Im-BLEACHments

These images are the result of trying to push my bleaching techniques further and from the desire to recycle materials for new work. While creating these, I was reminded of muscle and sinewy flesh, due to the colors and linear irregularities. This led me to dedicate the work to women who have been made to suffer from acid attacks. The perpetrators of these misogynist crimes often go unpunished, while the female victims are left to suffer in pain, scarred for life. All imbleachments are unique mono-prints. The Marjorie Barrick Museum has one in their permanent collection.
