Sunrise Bridge
Las Vegas's first significant Yarn Bombing project, created for Clark County by the West Flamingo Yarn Stormers. This group, under my direction and using my concept and design, created circles, and attached circles to shade cloth. I rallied the Boy Scouts to help with installation. Both sides of the bridge were "covered" . The design of a sunset, made of circles, were to reference the adjacent Sunrise Hospital. The south side mural lasted 6 months, and the north side circles remained in tact, were recycled into flowers, to create a mural for the senior center. This project won the annual "Excellence on Programming" award from the Nevada Recreation and Parks Society, as well as an international award from CODAX public art.
