Rainbow Railing

This was the first project that the West Flamingo Yarn Stormers created under my direction, and it is the first Las Vegas yarn bombing project.  In 2009 I was transferred to a Senior Center. When I found out that there was a knit and crochet group, I gave a presentation on yarn bombing, and members of the group enthusiastically embraced the idea. The handicap railing attached to the facility gets too hot for anyone to use, in the hot Las Vegas summers, so I proposed to crochet and knit a covering that would also beautify the property. As the heat and sun destroys the covering within 9 months, this has been recreated once a year, for 10 years, so every year it looks different. This project won the annual Excellence in Programming " from the Nevada Recreation and Parks Society.
